Rotters has its origins in the meetings of the community Environment Working Group of the local SRB partnership, Speke-Garston Partnership. Interest was initially expressed in launching a kerbside collection of recyclable organic materials. From the inception of the proposal, the intention was to collect both garden and kitchen materials.
Rotters has evolved into an organisation that provides collections of food waste from businesses and schools. In addition an education programme for schools has been developed and delivered to schools in the Liverpool Area. There is also the provision of horticultural training for adults of all ages and abilities.

Testimonial from the Green Party - 20th March 2014
“Thank you Rotters! We hold two four-day conferences a year for over 500 people, we are very mindful of doing all we can to reduce the carbon footprint of our events. After transport and venue, catering is the biggest single carbon contributor to an event’s carbon impact so it was vital for us to find a way of reducing this by ensuring that any food waste we generate is diverted from landfill. At our recent conference in Liverpool, we had the added problem of needing to use disposable crockery. We turned to Rotters for advice on this and were so impressed! They are incredibly knowledgeable and provide an excellent service – well priced and professional, yet personal and passionate – and were great at getting the venue and the caterers to co-operate. And everything just happened in the background without us having to worry about it. Brilliant"
